Pazhassi Tomb
This tomb stands as the majestic memorial of King Veera Pazhassi Raja who is known as the ‘Lion of Kerala’. He waged guerilla war against the British, after Tipu Sultan ceded Malabar to them. He was caught finally near Mavilamthode in Pullpally. The place where he was cremated in 1805 has a museum housing his memorablia. Boating facilities are available near the Pazhassi Resort.

The memorial has murals that illustrate the life and times of the king. The important events have been divided chronologically into eight compositions or panels. The first panel depicts the personality of Veera Kerala Varma Pazhassi Raja. The second depicts the early stages of his prosperous rule.

The third panel shows the interference of the British into the peaceful life of people of Pazhassi. The fourth panel explains the suppression of the administration of Pazhassi by the British. The fifth panel depicts the determination of the king to redeem his people. The sixth panel shows the fight between Pazhassi Raja and the British East India Company. The seventh shows the fall of Pazhassi Raja, and the eighth depicts his funeral.
