Pepper Green Village - Resort

Hotels Wayanad

Pepper Green Village stands on the banks of the Kabini River, the heart of Wayanad. The resort has been built in a place with unique ecosystem. The moment you step in, you’ll know the difference. The resort itself has more than 200 trees and flowering bushes, vines of pepper and other spices.

There are cottages and tree houses as options for accommodation. They are named after spices and scents – Cardamom, Stevia, Lavender, Garlic, Saffron and Ginger. It symbolizes the concept of the resort. Stevia is a beautiful suite overlooking the Kabini river. It is made entirely of wood and bamboo. A tree house, it has a bedroom, lounge and a loft. The balcony is spacious and has bamboo and wooden furniture. Some of the cottages have trees right inside them and growing out of it. It isn’t bad planning; it’s our way of allowing nature around us, and not restricting it.

Cinnamon is built on a raised platform, 20 feet above the ground. It has three trees going right through the bedroom. Ginger and Garlic are two traditional cottages made on the concept of tree houses. Lavishly spacious and elegantly furnished, all these cottages are constructed in wood and bamboo in tribal architectural styles and have the natural scent of spices and the surrounding vegetation, and they stay cool even on a warm day.

The three modern cottages – Saffron, one that comes with a bedroom, lounge and a kitchenette; Mint, overlooking lush paddy fields; and Lavender, overlooking the Kabini River – are other options for your stay.

The PGV has a tree-top walkway made of wood and bamboo and raised on stilts and tree-trunks. It connects Cassia and Cinnamon with Stevia and gives a panoramic view of the beautiful surroundings. There are spots and benches on the way where you can sit down and relax. You can fish at the river bank, go boating or have a refreshing dip in the river. If you fancy a night-out, then we can organise a camp-fire and barbecue by the riverside.

Across the river is the famous Kuruva Island, it is a riverine island as well as a bird sanctuary. It’s just a boat ride away. You can go bird watching, bamboo rafting, and even go up the river o a trek. The forest reserve, too, is close by. Wildlife includes elephants, bison, deer and cheetahs. PGV has a camping spot just at the fringe of the forest with just a trench and an electrified fence separating you from the wild animals.

There are a lot of options for wildlife enthusiasts – Chembra Peak, Pookott Lake, Muthanga wildlife sanctuary, Edakkal caves, Meenmutty Waterfalls and others. Wildlife safaris, jeep rides into the forests, river rafting and big game fishing are other options for adventure-lovers.
Pepper Green Village is easily accessible from Kerala as well as Karnataka. It is close to the Coorg district of Karnataka. The nearest railway station and airport is at Kozhikode.
